End-to-End Casting Support

Steel casting support from tooling through final inspection, with in-house pattern tooling, machining, and engineering input throughout the program.

Steel Grades Carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and other steel grades based on application requirements. Grade selection based on strength, wear, corrosion resistance, heat treatment response, and end-use application.
Pattern Tooling In-house pattern design and build for prototype and production tooling. Urethane, wood, and aluminum tooling based on part geometry, quantity, and lead time.
Casting Processes Green sand, no-bake, and 3D printed molds for prototype and low- to medium-volume steel castings. 3D printed molds support rapid prototyping, complex geometry, and reduced lead times without hard tooling.
Core & Part Complexity Complex core geometry, internal passages, and multi-core assemblies.
Heat Treatment Heat treatment based on alloy, mechanical requirements, and end-use application.
Machining CNC machining to finished part specifications. Critical features, close-tolerance areas, and machined steel castings completed to drawing requirements.
Finishing & Surface Treatments Painting, powder coating, plating, and other surface treatments based on part requirements and service environment.
Inspection, Testing & Documentation Dimensional inspection and NDT support. X-ray, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle inspection available as required. FAIR, PPAP, and material certifications available based on program requirements.
Engineering & Program Support Print review and manufacturability input before tooling begins. Alternate methods and tooling strategies can be evaluated for early-stage or low-quantity requirements.

Why Work With CPM

CPM supports steel casting programs with in-house pattern expertise, controlled execution, and one accountable team from print review through final delivery.

In-House Pattern Expertise

Pattern tooling is built and maintained in-house for faster turnaround, better process control, and more efficient casting development.

One Accountable Partner

One team is responsible from print review through final delivery, keeping communication, timing, and execution aligned.

Process-Driven Results

Defined workflows from tooling through machining and inspection reduce variability and support repeatable steel casting production.

Flexible Volumes

Built for prototype through low- to medium-volume steel castings without the constraints of a high-volume foundry model.

Consistent Delivery

Clear checkpoints and controlled execution help ensure machined steel castings are delivered as expected and to specification.

When CPM Is the Right Fit

Best suited for projects that require flexibility, engineering support, and controlled steel casting production.

CPM is a strong fit when:

  • You need steel castings with machining completed
  • You want one accountable source for tooling, casting, and finishing
  • You are working from a print and need casting design or manufacturability input
  • You need repeat production support, not just a one-off sample

Typical steel castings include:

Housings, brackets, covers, structural components, valve bodies, machine components, wear parts, and machined steel castings.

Looking for a Different Material?

Not sure steel is the right fit? We also support ductile iron, cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel, and other casting materials depending on your application.
